Deniz Undav's hat-trick was pivotal in Stuttgart's thrilling 3-3 draw against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park. The forward completed his treble in the 91st minute, equalising after Karim Adeyemi's
late goal seemed to secure a win for Dortmund. Despite Dortmund's 2-0 lead at half-time, Stuttgart fought back with determination.
Emre Can initiated the scoring for Dortmund with a penalty just after the half-hour mark, following a foul by Undav on Nico Schlotterbeck. Maximilian Beier extended the lead shortly after, capitalising on a close-range opportunity. However, Stuttgart emerged from the break with renewed vigour and quickly began their comeback.
Bilal El Khannouss set up Undav's first goal just two minutes into the second half. The former Brighton striker then equalised thanks to some clever play by Maximilian Mittelstadt. Although Adeyemi's powerful strike threatened to spoil Stuttgart's efforts, Undav's late heroics ensured they left with a point.
Undav has now scored twice or more in consecutive Bundesliga games for the first time in his career. His performance against Dortmund was particularly noteworthy as he has netted six goals against them in the league, more than any other opponent. His three goals came from an expected goals (xG) tally of just 0.9.
Despite this, Niko Kovac might feel aggrieved given that Dortmund had an xG of 2.91 compared to Stuttgart’s 1.48. This highlights how clinical Undav was in front of goal, making the most of limited opportunities.

The match showcased both teams' attacking prowess and resilience, providing fans with an exciting spectacle. While Dortmund will rue missed chances and defensive lapses, Stuttgart can take pride in their spirited fightback led by Undav’s remarkable display.
