1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes youngest Centurion in SMAT
Bihar and India's sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a magnificent century against Maharashtra to become the youngest player to score a hundred in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His scintillating 108 off 61 was the third T20 hundred of his career. Despite the knock, Bihar fell to defeat, but the 14-year-old continues to reach loftier heights.
2. Glenn Maxwell opts out of IPL auction

England's Moeen Ali has opted out of the IPL 2026 auction to prioritize the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The all-rounder, absent from recent IPL player lists, aims to focus on the overlapping PSL schedule. This move aligns with other stars like Faf du Plessis choosing PSL over IPL.
4. Virat, Rohit seen in intense chat with BCCI selector
The relationship between India's head coach Gautam Gambhir and senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma has reportedly become strained. The tension, described as "borderline cold," has intensified since Kohli and Rohit's retirement from Test cricket and their return in the ODI format. Some prominent names are up for grabs in the auction, and out of them, 45 players have put in a base price of Rs 2 crore. Among them, only two Indians have placed themselves in that bracket - Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi.
6. Ex-England player arrested for Rape
A former England and Premier League footballer was arrested at Stansted Airport on suspicion of attempted rape following a complaint by a former partner. The arrest occurred at passport control, and the player was taken into custody by Essex Police, who conducted fingerprinting, DNA sampling, and photographing. He was later released on bail pending further investigation, with a court date set for February 2026. His identity remains confidential due to legal restrictions.
7. Iran boycott World Cup 2026 Draw after Visa denials
Iran has announced it will boycott the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw in Washington, D.C., due to the U.S. government's denial of visas to several key members of its delegation, including the Iranian Football Federation president Mehdi Taj. The Iranian federation described this as "unsportsmanlike" and politically motivated. 8. Railways honour Three Women's World Cup Winners as Officers
Indian Railways has honored World Cup-winning women cricketers Pratika Rawal, Sneh Rana, and Renuka Singh Thakur by appointing them as Officers on Special Duty (OSD-Sports) with Group B gazetted officer status.
