Arne Slot remains determined to tackle Liverpool's current challenges head-on. He believes that confronting their situation is the only way forward. Liverpool suffered a 4-1 defeat against PSV in the Champions
League, marking their ninth loss in 12 matches. Ivan Perisic initially put PSV ahead, but Virgil van Dijk equalised. However, Guus Til and Couhaib Driouech secured a memorable win for PSV at Anfield.
Liverpool's recent form has been concerning, with three consecutive losses by margins of three or more goals for the first time since December 1953. This run of nine defeats in 12 games is their worst since the 1953-54 season. Slot expressed his disappointment to TNT Sports, acknowledging the negative emotions surrounding the team and the jeers from fans at full-time.
Slot highlighted how Liverpool conceded early in both halves but praised his players' response after falling behind. "The reaction of the players is what you expect from a Liverpool player," he stated. Despite creating chances to level the score at 2-2, they ultimately succumbed to a heavy defeat.
The Dutchman noted that after conceding the first goal, Liverpool showed a mentality he hoped for, continuing to push even after going down 2-1. "End result is 4-1 and that's a big loss," he admitted, but he appreciated their transition play in the first half.

Virgil van Dijk was involved in a controversial moment when he conceded a penalty for handball while defending a corner. Slot explained that Van Dijk felt he was fouled during the incident: "He got a little push. that's why he raised his arm. " This mistake contributed to PSV's opening goal.
Adding to Liverpool's woes, striker Hugo Ekitike sustained an injury during the match. Slot noticed Ekitike struggling early in the second half and later learned that Ekitike had felt discomfort in his back within minutes of starting the game.
