Leeds United managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Brentford in a Premier League match at Gtech Community Stadium. Jordan Henderson scored his first league goal since December 2021, putting Brentford ahead
in the 70th minute. However, Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised for Leeds with a header from Wilfried Gnonto's cross just 12 minutes later.
Brentford's initial goal seemed unexpected as they had shown little threat until substitutes Rico Henry and Mikkel Damsgaard entered the game. Their combined effort led to Henderson's goal, which deflected off Jaka Bijol. Despite being awarded a penalty that was later overturned by VAR in the first half, Brentford couldn't maintain their lead.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in fine form, scoring in four consecutive league matches for Leeds. This marks his best scoring run since he netted in five straight games under Carlo Ancelotti at Everton in 2020. Last season, injuries limited him to three goals in 26 appearances for Everton.
Leeds were not particularly dynamic but created enough chances to justify a point. They had an expected goals (xG) value of 1.39 compared to Brentford's 0.71 xG. Farke’s team took 17 shots against Brentford’s seven and had more touches inside the opponent’s box.
Brentford have struggled to hold onto leads this season, dropping more points from winning positions than any other Premier League team. They have lost 13 points this way, including five against promoted sides like Sunderland and Leeds.

Substitute Wilfried Gnonto played a crucial role for Leeds again, as he did against Liverpool previously. His precise cross allowed Calvert-Lewin to demonstrate his aerial skills, while only a quick save from Caoimhin Kelleher stopped Ethan Ampadu from completing a comeback for Leeds.
The match ended with both teams sharing the spoils after an intense contest where neither side could claim dominance throughout the game.
