Virat Kohli has become the first player in IPL's history to score 9,000 runs on Monday (April 27) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter was just 11 runs away from the milestone, and completed it in style, staying unbeaten 23 as RCB won the match by 9 wickets.
Kohli, who has been a stalwart of the game, has been involved in the IPL since its inception in 2008. Over the last 19 years, the Delhi-born has represented solely RCB, and won the maiden title last year. In his illustrious IPL career, Kohli has notched up 66 fifties and 8 centuries. He also became the first player to hit 800+ fours and the third player to hit 300+ sixes in IPL in the last match.
Virat Kohli closes in on 14,000 T20 Runs

in on scoring 14,000 T20 runs. He was 129 runs away from the landmark and has now gone further closer after the match against DC. Kohli will thus become the first Indian to achieve the mark, and the sixth overall. Kohli now has 13894 T20 runs in his career.
In the explosive world of T20 cricket, amassing runs across domestic leagues like IPL, BBL, CPL, PSL, and international matches demands consistency, power, and longevity. Chris Gayle reigns supreme as the undisputed king, amassing 14,562 runs in 463 matches with a strike rate of 144.75, including a record 22 centuries and over 1,000 sixes.
Trailing him is Kieron Pollard with 14,482 runs, explosive opener Alex Hales, David Warner, and Jos Buttler, all surpassing 14,000 runs in franchise and international T20s.
