Arsenal Women secured a 3-1 victory against Everton in the Women's Super League match on Saturday. Katie McCabe and Olivia Smith scored impressive goals, with three of the four goals coming between the 11th
and 15th minutes. Smith's late goal sealed the win at Goodison Park. Arsenal dominated possession, holding over 70%, and moved into second place ahead of Sunday's matches.
McCabe opened the scoring with a brilliant left-footed shot. Everton quickly responded through Honoka Hayashi's fine strike, which briefly levelled the score. However, Arsenal regained their lead two minutes later when Alessia Russo deflected Kim Little's wayward shot past Everton's goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan. This marked Russo's 100th WSL appearance.
The Gunners were relentless in their attack, attempting 22 shots with 10 on target. In contrast, Everton managed only three shots, hitting the target twice. Despite Russo hitting the crossbar in an attempt to extend the lead further, Arsenal settled for a decisive win as they continued their winning streak.
Smith's stunning volley in the 87th minute ensured Arsenal fans went home satisfied. Her goal had an expected goals (xG) value of just 0.02, highlighting its difficulty. McCabe's earlier goal was similarly challenging with an xG of only 0.04.
Everton have now lost five consecutive WSL home games, marking their worst run in this competition. Their recent victory against reigning champions Chelsea was not enough to halt Arsenal's momentum. The Gunners' travelling supporters celebrated another triumph as they maintained their impressive form.

Hayashi's equaliser for Everton had a mere 6% chance of success when she struck it, underscoring its quality despite the defeat. Arsenal proved to be deserving winners with their superior performance throughout the match.
