Smriti Mandhana Becomes First Player in T20I History to Hit 600 Fours during Women's T20 World Cup

Smriti Mandhana has added another remarkable achievement to her career. The Indian vice-captain became the first player in the history of T20 International cricket, across both men's and women's cricket, to reach 600 fours. She achieved the milestone during India's emphatic 95-run win over the Netherlands in the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup at Headingley in Leeds on June 17.

Mandhana reached the landmark in her trademark style, finding the boundary through the off-side before going on to score 74 runs from 47 balls. Her innings included 11 fours and one six and helped India register one of their most dominant wins of the tournament. The knock also earned her the Player of the Match award and continued her impressive start to the World Cup campaign

with a second consecutive half-century.

Mandhana Moves Into a League of Her Own

During her innings, Mandhana took her tally to 604 fours in 168 T20I appearances. No player in either men's or women's T20I cricket has reached the 600-boundary mark before.

New Zealand's Suzie Bates is second on the all-time list with 521 fours, followed by Chamari Athapaththu with 493. Among male cricketers, Babar Azam leads the charts with 477 fours, while Paul Stirling has 449 and Rohit Sharma has 383.

Mandhana also has 4475 runs in Women's T20Is, the second-highest tally among women. Bates leads the list with 4720 runs.

India's Record-Breaking Win Over Netherlands

India's vice-captain shared a 115-run opening partnership with Shafali Verma, who scored 66 from 38 balls. The stand laid the foundation for India's highest-ever total in a Women's T20 World Cup match as they posted 209 runs.

The Netherlands were bowled out for 114, handing India a commanding 95-run victory. Shafali claimed three wickets, while Sree Charani starred with four wickets. Mandhana also surpassed Harmanpreet Kaur to register the most 50-plus scores by an Indian player in Women's T20 World Cup history, with six.

India will now look to carry this momentum into their next group-stage match against South Africa. With records continuing to fall, Smriti Mandhana's World Cup campaign is already becoming one of the tournament's biggest stories.
