The grand stage is set for the Pakistan Super League 11 Final as Peshawar Zalmi take on debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
For Babar Azam and his Zalmi side, the summit clash marks a return to the final after four years. The former champions booked their place emphatically, crushing Islamabad United by 70 runs in the Qualifier. With the skipper in sublime touch, Zalmi will be banking on another decisive knock to end their title drought.
In contrast, Hyderabad Kingsmen have been the tournament's breakout story. After finishing fourth in the league phase, they scripted a remarkable run through the knockouts, defeating Multan Sultans and then overcoming Islamabad United in Eliminator 2 to reach the final in their maiden
season.
The two sides have already produced a thrilling contest earlier this season, where Zalmi edged past Hyderabad in a last-ball finish, setting the stage for another high-intensity showdown.
PSL 2026: How Much Will The Winner And Runner-Up Earn?
Off the field, the Pakistan Cricket Board has introduced a significant change to the league's reward structure. For the first time in PSL history, franchises will receive separate prize money alongside the players' rewards. The winning franchise will earn USD 500,000, while the runners-up will take home USD 300,000. An additional USD 200,000 has been allocated for the franchise with the best player development programme.
Players of the title-winning team will also share a separate prize pool of USD 500,000, taking the total prize pool for the tournament to USD 1.5 million.
The revamped financial model, first announced by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi last November, is part of broader efforts to enhance the league's growth and competitiveness.
With silverware and substantial financial rewards at stake, the PSL 11 final promises to be more than just a battle for the trophy-it's an opportunity to create history on multiple fronts.
