Rohit Sharma has revisited a rare milestone in limited-overs cricket after more than six years as he created mayhem in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Sikkim on Wednesday (December 24).
At the Sawai
Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rohit returned to the VHT after seven years, and took apart the bowlers with his class.
Almost 12,000 fans witnessed Rohit's batting masterclass as the India stalwart scored 155 runs off just 94 balls, thus helping Mumbai to win the match with ease.
Chasing 237 runs, Rohit came to open the batting with Angkrish Raghuvanshi and gave Mumbai a flying start. The India veteran started with consecutive fours and sixes, and never looked back since. He got to his fifty in 26 deliveries and continued the onslaught.
The star batter showed no intention of stopping and continued his batting prowess. The duo put on 141 runs for the opening wicket and despite Raghuvanshi's departure after 38 runs, there was no stopping Rohit. He score his fastest List A century in just 62 deliveries, and then remained on course to get to 150 runs as well.
Rohit hit 9 sixes and 18 fours in his sublime knock, before departing for 155 runs in 94 deliveries. The 39-year-old batted at a strike rate of 165 and is the player of the match for his knock.

With this excellent knock in Jaipur, Rohit Sharma has now scored his first 150 plus score in a List A match after 2197 days. His previous knock of over 150 runs in limited-overs cricket was back on December 18 in 2019, against the West Indies in Visakhapatnam, where he scored 159 runs off 138 balls.
