Noida, January 19, 2026: UP Dominators pulled off a dramatic turnaround to defeat Delhi Dangal Warriors 5-4 in Match 7 of the Pro Wrestling League 2026 at the Noida Indoor Stadium, overturning a 4-1 deficit to claim a crucial victory.
After Delhi dominated the opening half of the tie through Anastasiya Alpyeeva and captain Sujeet Kalkal, UP staged a late surge led by Tapsya Gahlawat, skipper Nisha Dahiya, and a decisive final-bout performance from two-time world championship medallist Antim Panghal.
Gahlawat was named Player of the Match for sparking UP's comeback, while Alpyeeva earned Fighter of the Match honours for her early dominance.
Delhi set the tone in the 86kg
men's bout as Vafaeipour Hadi Bakhtiar used strong par terre control to beat Mykhailov Vasyl 7-4. Alpyeeva then doubled the lead in the 76kg women's category, recovering from an early setback to overpower Ojo Damola Hannah 11-2 with a series of takedown-and-turn combinations.
The momentum continued for Delhi in the 74kg men's contest, where Azerbaijan's Turan Bayramov executed a patient tactical plan to edge Abhimanyu Mandwal 3-0, pushing Delhi to a commanding 3-0 lead.
UP finally opened their account through U20 world champion Tapsya Gahlawat in the 57kg women's bout. Wrestling with control and clarity, she secured an 8-2 win to bring UP back into the tie. However, Delhi responded immediately as Sujeet Kalkal produced a commanding performance in the 65kg men's category, overwhelming Vishal Kali Raman with relentless attacks to claim a technical superiority win and extend Delhi's lead to 4-1.
The tie turned in the 57kg men's bout when Rahul Deswal mounted a comeback after early pressure, sealing an 8-5 win over Shubham Kaushik with a decisive Power Minute takedown. UP carried that momentum into the heavyweight contest, where Jaspooran Singh controlled the centre to beat Ronak 3-1 and narrow the gap further.
With the scores tightening, captain Nisha Dahiya delivered under pressure in the 62kg women's bout, edging Anjli 9-5 in a high-intensity contest to level the tie at 4-4.
The decider saw Antim Panghal rise to the occasion in the 53kg women's bout. The Olympian asserted control from the outset, racking up points through clean takedowns and closing the contest early via technical superiority to complete UP Dominators' comeback and lift them to the top of the table.
