Defending Asian Games women's cricket champions India reached the final after brushing aside hosts Japan by eight wickets in the quarter-finals before overcoming Bangladesh by 114 runs in the semis.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has been clinical and efficient themselves as well, as they breezed past Malaysia, defeating them by a comfortable margin of 86 runs in the quarters before outclassing Pakistan by eight wickets in the semis.
The gold medal clash will mark the second meeting between India and Sri Lanka in a major continental final this month, following
their Asia Cup showdown in Dubai less than 10 days ago.
