The M Chinnaswamy Stadium, established with the patronage of the Government of Karnataka in 1969 and situated in the heart of Bengaluru, will host at least seven matches during the nineteenth edition of the Indian Premier League - IPL 2025, starting Saturday (March 28).
Known earlier as the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) stadium, the venue, situated in the heart of the city, was renamed after Mangalam Chinnaswamy, who was the BCCI President from 1977 to 1980 and had also served in the KSCA for four decades.
The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has served as the home venue for the Karnataka state teams, the Indian cricket team, and, since 2008, when the Indian Premier League (IPL) started, the Bengaluru-based franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru men's
team, and since 2024, the RCB women's team.
KSCA stadium in Bengaluru is expected to host 5 of RCB's home league stage matches, starting with the fixture against SRH, followed by games against CSK, DC, and LSG in April.
