WPL Final: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) walked away with both the Women's Premier League 2026 trophy and a handsome cash reward after producing a remarkable six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the final at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi on Thursday.
Along with lifting their second WPL title, RCB earned prize money of ₹6 crore, while runners-up Delhi Capitals received ₹3 crore for finishing second best in the tournament.
RCB's triumph came after a stunning run chase in a high-scoring summit clash. Pursuing a daunting target of 203, Bengaluru completed the chase in 19.4 overs, finishing at 204/4. Radha Yadav sealed the memorable win in style by smashing consecutive boundaries to trigger celebrations in the RCB camp.
The backbone of the successful
chase was an outstanding partnership between skipper Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll. Mandhana delivered a captain's knock, hammering 87 runs from just 41 balls with an impressive blend of timing and aggressive intent. Voll played the perfect supporting role, anchoring the innings with a composed 79 off 54 deliveries as the duo steadily dismantled Delhi's bowling attack and shifted the momentum in RCB's favour.
Delhi Capitals had an early breakthrough when Chinelle Henry dismissed Grace Harris cheaply in the second over. However, Mandhana and Voll rebuilt the innings with calm authority and ensured the asking rate never spiralled out of control. Even after their partnership ended, RCB held their nerve to complete the chase comfortably.
Earlier in the match, Delhi Capitals produced a strong batting performance after being put in to bat first. The side posted an imposing 203/4 in 20 overs, thanks to contributions from multiple batters. Chinelle Henry played a blistering cameo, remaining unbeaten on 35 off just 15 balls. Her late onslaught proved decisive, especially during a brutal 19th over in which she collected 24 runs off Nadine de Klerk.
Laura Wolvaardt also made a significant contribution with a quick-fire 44 off 25 balls before being run out on the last delivery of the innings. Jemimah Rodrigues added stability with a well-constructed half-century, while Lizelle Lee provided early momentum with a 37-run knock. Arundhati Reddy chipped in with an important breakthrough by removing Shafali Varma during the powerplay.
Despite posting a competitive total, Delhi Capitals' wait for their maiden WPL title continued as they suffered their fourth successive defeat in a final, while RCB celebrated another historic championship win along with the tournament's top prize money.
