Sanju Samson has broken his silence after leaving Rajasthan Royals for Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
The star India batter has been traded to CSK from RR, in return for Ravindra Jadeja
and Sam Curran moving to the other side.
Sanju was tipped with a move away from RR for a long time. The Kerala batter was not in sync with the Rajasthan team management for many reasons, which ultimately culminated in his move away.
But it has been an emotional ride for Sanju at the franchise, who nurtured him from his young days. And on the day of biding adieu, Samson penned an emotional message to his just former employees.
"We are only here for a short period of time. Gave MY everything to this franchise, enjoyed some great cricket, made some lifetime relations, treated everyone in the franchise as my family.. And when its time..I AM moving On. Shall always be grateful for everything," Sanju wrote on Instagram.
In exchange, RR received two experienced all-rounders from CSK - Ravindra Jadeja and England's Sam Curran. Jadeja, a long-time CSK stalwart with 12 seasons at the franchise and three IPL titles, moves back to RR where he originally began his IPL career. His league fee was revised to ₹14 crore in this deal. Sam Curran, valued at ₹2.4 crore and known for his medium pace bowling and lower-order hitting, also joined RR as part of the trade.
Apart from that, RR have also traded Nitish Rana for Donovan Ferreira. Rana has moved to Delhi Capitals, while Ferreira rejoins the Royals after a brief stint earlier.
