LSG, batting first after losing the toss, struggled on a slow pitch and were bundled out for a below-par 141 in 18.4 overs. KL Rahul fell for a golden duck to Mohammed Shami's first ball - a sharp outswinger edged to deep backward point. Mitchell Marsh top-scored with 35, while Abdul Samad (29*) and Shahbaz Ahmed fought briefly, but Lungi Ngidi's 3/27 triggered a collapse.

Chasing 142, DC lost early wickets, including KL Rahul, but recovered strongly through a record 119-run 5th-wicket partnership between Sameer Rizvi (70* off 47) and Tristan Stubbs (39

off 32).

Rizvi sealed the win with a six off Abdul Samad as the Capitals started the season with all two points. The young 22-year-old played a stunning knock under pressure, after coming on as an Impact Player.

The Delhi side were the better of the two throughout the match, and the Super Giants perhaps missed a trick with a less frontline bowler.
