The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2026 concluded as Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their 2nd title on Sunday (May 31).
This was one of the most explosive and high-scoring seasons in the tournament's history. Featuring 10 teams and 74 matches, the tournament ran for more than two mobths. Batting completely dominated the season, with flatter pitches, evolved power-hitting techniques, and the Impact Player rule pushing scoring rates to unprecedented levels.
Teams shattered multiple records for aggregate runs, boundaries, and sixes. Young stars like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shone brightly, while veterans such as Virat Kohli delivered clutch performances. Spinners found it extremely difficult as batters feasted on bowling attacks, with
pacers and all-rounders leading the wickets charts.
