Lando Norris expressed caution despite leading the initial sessions at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He was marginally faster than Max Verstappen in the first practice and widened this lead to 0.363 seconds in the second session. Oscar Piastri, who missed the first session, only managed 11th place later. Norris can clinch his first Formula One Drivers Championship with a podium finish in Abu Dhabi.
Norris is set to make his 152nd Grand Prix appearance, all with McLaren. This milestone will place him fourth for most races with a single team, surpassing Kimi Raikkonen's 151 races with Ferrari. Reflecting on Friday's performance, Norris acknowledged his satisfaction but remained cautious about future prospects. "I mean obviously from the times, things
look good at the minute. I still want a bit more from the car. I'm not completely happy or completely confident," he told Sky Sports.

Norris has been experimenting with different setups to enhance car performance. He remains optimistic about improvements overnight but is aware of the competition tightening during qualifying. "I've been in the middle of trying some different things and trying to understand some things with the car," he said. "So hopefully there's more stuff we can get out of it overnight. "
This race marks a significant moment in F1 history as three drivers vie for the championship in the final race for only the 13th time. Historically, four drivers leading into such finales have secured victory: Juan Manuel Fangio (1951, 1956), Jack Brabham (1959), and Graham Hill (1968).
As anticipation builds for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Norris remains focused on extracting maximum performance from his car while acknowledging that qualifying will be crucial for his championship aspirations.
