Records fell across the WNBA as Cheryl Reeve matched the career coaching wins mark, Aja Wilson delivered a unique statistical line, and the Washington Mystics survived a four-overtime epic, while the Golden State Valkyries kept their strong run going against the New York Liberty.
Reeve drew level with Mike Thibault on 379 regular-season victories when the Minnesota Lynx defeated the Dallas Wings 85-77, as Natasha Howard closed the contest with a decisive burst that underlined Minnesota’s league-leading form and left Dallas still seeking a first win against the Lynx this season.
Howard finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds and three steals, but the late surge stood out most, with 10 of those points coming in the final five minutes as Minnesota moved
to 15-4 and claimed a fifth win from six outings while keeping Dallas at 11-8.
Olivia Miles matched Howard’s 21 points and added eight assists for Minnesota, while Kayla McBride supplied 17 points and hit four shots from beyond the arc; for Dallas, Paige Bueckers led all scorers with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting and Azzi Fudd contributed 21 points, four steals and four three-pointers.

While Reeve reached a coaching milestone, Wilson produced a statistical landmark, becoming the first WNBA player to collect at least 30 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and three blocks in a single match as the Las Vegas Aces beat the Chicago Sky 107-99.
Wilson, a four-time league MVP, scored 30 points on 8-of-14 shooting and made 13 of 16 free throws for the 14-5 Aces, who also received 28 points, eight assists and five rebounds from Jackie Young, plus 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds from Chelsea Gray.
Chicago, now 6-13, missed a chance at a third consecutive victory despite 24 points each from Kamilla Cardoso and Azura Stevens; Skylar Diggins added six rebounds and five assists but converted only two of 11 field-goal attempts, limiting Chicago’s ability to stay with the Las Vegas offence.

WNBA record marathon as Mystics edge Portland Fire
The Mystics and Portland Fire shared the most dramatic contest of the day, with Washington winning 124-123 in four overtimes to equal the longest game in WNBA history and repeat the franchise’s involvement in the league’s only previous quadruple-overtime clash, against the Seattle Storm on 3 July 2001.
Washington, now 9-9, finally moved ahead with 21.4 seconds left in the fourth extra period through Sonia Citron, who closed with 32 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Michaela Onyenwere posted 30 points, five rebounds and five assists and Kiki Iriafen delivered 27 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals.
That trio made Washington the first WNBA side to have three players score at least 27 points in one game; Portland, now 8-12, replied with three 20-point scorers of its own, as Carla Leite recorded 32 points, nine assists, six rebounds and three steals, Sarah Ashlee Barker added 25 points and Megan Gustafson contributed 20.

WNBA record streak keeps Golden State Valkyries climbing
Golden State’s 76-67 success over the New York Liberty did not set a formal WNBA record, but it extended an impressive stretch for the Valkyries, who moved to 13-7 with a seventh win in nine games, handing the 12-8 Liberty a fourth defeat across five contests following an earlier eight-game winning sequence.
The Valkyries spread the scoring load, with seven players reaching at least eight points; Kaila Charles topped the team with 13 points, Kayla Thornton added 11, Cecilia Zandalasini and Janelle Salaun both scored 10, and Veronica Burton finished with eight points, eight assists and six rebounds in a disciplined all-round display.
New York’s response came mainly through Jonquel Jones, who had 21 points and seven rebounds, and Breanna Stewart, who contributed 15 points, but Sabrina Ionescu struggled from the field, managing only nine points on 3-of-10 shooting as the Liberty attack fell short of its earlier-season efficiency.

Across the league’s packed schedule, Reeve’s coaching landmark, Wilson’s unique stat line, Washington’s four-overtime survival and Golden State’s continued surge combined to shape a notable round of WNBA action that altered season records, offered several individual career highs and underlined how competitive the campaign remains.
