In a thrilling Premier League encounter, Bournemouth staged an impressive comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against West Ham at the Vitality Stadium. Marcus Tavernier and Enes Unal were instrumental in the second-half
resurgence. Callum Wilson, a former Bournemouth player, had earlier put West Ham ahead with two goals, leaving them hopeful for a third consecutive league victory under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Wilson's first goal came after 11 minutes when he controlled Alphonse Areola's long pass amid challenging weather conditions. His low shot slipped through Djordje Petrovic's hands. He doubled his tally with a superb finish into the top-left corner following assists from Jarrod Bowen and Jean-Clair Todibo. Despite this strong start, West Ham couldn't maintain their lead.
Bournemouth showed determination in the second half. Tavernier scored from the penalty spot after Max Kilman was penalised for handball. Unal then made an immediate impact by scoring just 46 seconds after coming on as a substitute, thanks to Marco Senesi's precise through ball. This equaliser highlighted Bournemouth's relentless pursuit of points.
West Ham's goalkeeper, Areola, played a crucial role in preventing Bournemouth from taking all three points. He made key saves to deny Eli Junior Kroupi before the equaliser and later stopped efforts from Evanilson and Amine Adli. These saves ensured that West Ham left with at least one point from the match.

Nuno Espirito Santo's decision to substitute Wilson in the 52nd minute raised eyebrows, especially given Wilson's performance. Despite challenging conditions, Wilson had been West Ham’s most threatening player with three shots and two on target. He also matched Bowen for touches in the opposition box.
Wilson remains a prolific scorer at the Vitality Stadium, with only Josh King having more Premier League goals there than him. His brace against West Ham marked his first since September 2019 against Everton and continued his streak of scoring in consecutive league matches since May 2024.
