A shocking Rs 100 crore defamation lawsuit has erupted against actress Khushi Mukherjee, sparked by her casual remarks about Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav that quickly snowballed into a viral firestorm.
What began as a lighthearted event quip has now drawn in a fierce fan advocate, legal threats, and desperate damage control from the starlet herself.
It all kicked off at a recent media event late last year when reporters prodded Khushi about dating cricketers. She dropped a bombshell, saying, "Many cricketers are after me. Suryakumar used to message me a lot. We don't talk much now, and I don't want my name linked with him. "
The comment exploded online, igniting outrage among fans who saw it as a smear on the cricketer's spotless image, especially as Yadav leads Team India ahead of major tournaments.
Enter Mumbai-based influencer Faizan Ansari, a vocal Suryakumar supporter with over 2 million Instagram followers. On January 13, he jetted to Ghazipur police station in Uttar Pradesh, Suryakumar's home state, to file the massive suit, branding Khushi's words a "publicity stunt" aimed at tarnishing a national hero. Ansari demanded an immediate FIR, at least seven years in jail, and challenged her to prove her claims, vowing to camp out until justice prevails.
Facing massive backlash, Khushi rushed to NDTV for clarification, insisting no romance ever existed-just friendly post-match chats after a defeat, now ended. She blamed exaggeration, context loss, and even a hacked Instagram for the mess, while wishing Suryakumar and Team India luck in the upcoming World Cup. Notably, neither the actress nor Yadav has commented further on the suit, leaving fans hooked on this Bollywood-cricket clash.
