Actor and former radio jockey RJ Mahvash has broken her silence on the swirling dating rumours linking her with Punjab Kings spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, she described their relationship as purely platonic and revealed she stood by the cricketer as a supportive friend during a tough personal phase.
Mahvash addressed speculation about their bond, particularly after Chahal's separation from his ex-wife, dancer Dhanashree Verma. She emphasised that she and Chahal were simply good friends, with her offering emotional support when he was going through a low point.
"No, there was nothing like that. I value friendships deeply, and at that time, he needed a good friend. He was going through a very low phase, and we supported
him as much as we could," Mahvash said while speaking with Pinkvilla.
On reports of an alleged argument between them (including follow-unfollow drama on social media), she downplayed the incident.
"People have a habit of making a fuss over small things. It is not such a big deal when you go through it. Like two friends had an argument and they follow-unfollowed each other. And the matter ends there. In fact, when you are comfortable talk absolute non-sense with friends, you should not hold any grudges against them. So I would always wish him all the best and my best wishes will always be with him. There's no such big deal in it," she added.
The rumours gained traction amid Chahal's high-profile divorce and his ongoing IPL 2026 campaign with Punjab Kings (PBKS). Despite the personal setbacks, Chahal has been part of PBKS's squad, though the team recently faced challenges in the playoff race. Mahvash's comments aim to put an end to the gossip, framing the connection as one of genuine friendship and support rather than romance.
