India will enter the Korea Open 2026, a BWF World Tour Super 500 event being held in Yeosu, on Wednesday with a significantly reduced singles lineup. In the men's section, H. S. Prannoy will be the country's only representative in the main draw, taking responsibility for India's campaign in the absence of Lakshya Sen.
Prannoy, a bronze medallist at the 2023 World Championships, will begin his tournament against South Korea's Yoo Tae Bin. Lakshya decided to withdraw after capturing the men's singles title at the Hylo Open in Germany.
India will also miss the services of P. V. Sindhu, who recently secured the women's singles title at the Hylo Open to complete a double triumph for the country. Her withdrawal means emerging players Anmol Kharb and
Tanvi Sharma will spearhead the women's singles challenge. Anmol, a semifinalist in Germany, faces Canada's Rachel Chan, while Tanvi is set to meet Japan's Manami Suizu.
In mixed doubles, Dhruv Rawat and K. Maneesha will represent India against China's Zhu Yi Jun and Li Qian in their opening encounter.
