Paris Saint-Germain stretched the lead in the Ligue 1 title race with a 3-1 home win over Toulouse, a result Luis Enrique stressed carried major weight. The champions moved four points clear of Lens, tightening control of the table and easing any post-international break concerns.
Playing at Parc des Princes on Friday, PSG scored through Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Goncalo Ramos. Toulouse briefly levelled via captain Rasmus Nicolaisen, but the hosts responded with greater intensity. The fixture came straight after extensive travel for many players, which raised fitness and rhythm questions before kick-off.
The Opta supercomputer now gave PSG a 97.1% chance of lifting a 14th Ligue 1 crown following this result. That projection underlined
how important the three points were in the wider title picture, particularly with Lens also preparing for what Hakimi described as "a very important match this weekend".
The scoring opened on 23 minutes when Dembele struck, but PSG’s advantage vanished quickly. Nicolaisen converted for Toulouse soon after, punishing a lapse in concentration. The response arrived in the 33rd minute as Kvaratskhelia, wearing number 10, restored the lead and shifted momentum firmly back towards Luis Enrique’s side.
Kvaratskhelia delivered a standout all-round display that matched the occasion’s pressure. The Georgia international finished with match-high figures for duels won, tackles and shots. Kvaratskhelia also completed every dribble attempted and ranked second for chances created, behind only Lee Kang-In, showing influence in both build-up play and direct attacking threat.
Ramos added the third goal in the second minute of stoppage time in the second half, confirming victory after Toulouse had chased an equaliser. That late strike rewarded PSG’s control in the closing stages. It also prevented any tense finish, as Lens watched a growing gap at the top of the standings.
The key attacking metrics from the match highlighted Kvaratskhelia’s impact and Hakimi’s creativity, alongside PSG’s collective edge in decisive areas.
Kvaratskhelia’s six shots led all players, while three chances created placed Kvaratskhelia just behind Lee Kang-In’s four. The winger also won 13 duels and four tackles, both match highs, and completed three dribbles from three. These numbers summed up a performance that balanced flair with defensive work for Luis Enrique’s game plan.
PSG Ligue 1 title focus tested by international break challenges
Luis Enrique underlined how the timing, straight after international duty, shaped preparations and the approach. Many squad members had flown long distances and logged heavy minutes. PSG also played on Friday, giving one fewer day of rest, a factor the coach felt increased the degree of difficulty against organised opposition.
"I'm very happy. We knew how important these three points were, especially as this match came after the international break," Luis Enrique told reporters. "It's difficult to manage because we had a lot of players involved, most of them had travelled and played matches. It was the moment to win these three points. We played on a Friday, which made it even harder because we had one less day's rest, but the team showed its ability to handle this match. Now it's time to enjoy the weekend with some rest for the players, some rest for the team. "

PSG Ligue 1 title bid boosted by Hakimi milestone performance
The night also marked a personal landmark for Achraf Hakimi, who made a 200th appearance in all competitions for PSG since joining in July 2021. In that period, no teammate played more minutes, with Hakimi accumulating 16,100. Hakimi also led the club for chances created, with 305 across domestic and European competitions.
Only Kylian Mbappe bettered Hakimi’s assist tally during that spell, with 40 compared with Hakimi’s 38. The Moroccan international collected 11 major trophies with PSG, including four Ligue 1 titles and last season’s Champions League success. This context heightened the sense of occasion as Hakimi contributed again from full-back against Toulouse.
Hakimi echoed the coach’s view that the schedule and travel load shaped the contest. "We knew it wouldn't be an easy game after the international break," Hakimi added. "There's a lot of travelling and a lot of games, but I think we put in a very good performance, from the first minute until the end. We knew how important this match was, with Lens also having a very important match this weekend. With this win, we can put the pressure on them. "
That pressure now shifted towards Lens, who must respond to remain in touch. PSG, meanwhile, strengthened control of the Ligue 1 race through a result shaped by Kvaratskhelia’s influence, Hakimi’s consistency and Luis Enrique’s management across a difficult week, gaining both points and confidence heading into the next fixtures.
