In a stunning upset at ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video on Friday, 5 December, Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu dethroned Fabricio Andrade with a fourth-round rear-naked choke to capture the ONE Bantamweight MMA World Title at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
The 36-year-old Mongolian followed in his mentor Narantungalag Jadambaa's footsteps to achieve his dream of bringing World Title gold back to Mongolia with a dominant performance that showcased his relentless grappling.
Baatarkhuu came out aggressively in round four and buried Andrade into the corner before taking him down and dropping devastating ground-and-pound that forced the Brazilian to expose his neck, allowing the challenger to sink in the fight-ending rear-naked choke at 1:33.
Diogo "Baby Shark" Reis defeated Daiki Yonekura to seize the vacant ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Title, pressing forward from the opening bell with relentless aggression that never allowed the match to settle.
The Brazilian cut through Yonekura's guard with a clean knee slice before trapping the arm and tightening an arm-triangle choke that the Japanese contender survived through technical defence and scrambling ability.
After 10 minutes of nonstop exchanges, the judges awarded the unanimous decision to "Baby Shark" for his sustained aggression, crowning the 23-year-old champion whilst pushing his record to 94-12 in impressive fashion.
Aliff Sor Dechapan tore through Ramadan Ondash en route to unanimous decision victory that secured his shot at Prajanchai PK Saenchai's ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title. The decisive moment came when Aliff jumped into a left knee that caught Ondash and sent him down for an eight-count.
