IPL 2026: The record books were rewritten at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday (April 21) as etched his name alongside royalty during Sunrisers Hyderabad's dominant display against Delhi Capitals.
While the opening duo of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan provided the initial fireworks, including a brutal 22-run assault on Kuldeep Yadav, it was Klaasen who provided the historic finishing touch.
SRH vs DC: Heinrich Klaasen gets to 100 IPL Sixes
By clearing the ropes with his trademark authority, Klaasen became the third-fastest player in IPL history to reach the 100-sixes milestone, achieving the feat in just 52 innings. He now sits in the rarefied air behind only Chris Gayle (37 innings) and Andre Russell (47).
Even more impressive is the efficiency of his striking; Klaasen reached
the century of maximums in just 1,072 balls, making him the seventh-fastest to the mark in terms of deliveries faced.
His milestone cameo helped propel SRH to a commanding position, capitalizing on the platform laid by Sharma's blistering half-century. For the Capitals, Klaasen's entry into the "100 Club" was a grim reminder of SRH's depth.
Klaasen ended up scoring an unbeaten 37 off 13 deliveries, as the Orange Army piled a mammoth score in the match. Abhishek Sharma also remained unbeaten with a stellar 135 off just 68 deliveries, hitting 10 fours and 10 sixes in his knock.
