In response, Pakistan's chase was anchored by Salman Ali Agha's composed 62 off 71 balls, supported by Mohammad Rizwan (55 off 74) and Hussain Talat (22 off 25). Despite a late wobble, the hosts managed to get over the line in the final over to claim victory.
The series opener also marked the return of international cricket to the Iqbal Stadium after 17 years.
The pitch offered a fair contest between bat and ball, getting trickier for batting as the game progressed. Winning the toss might prove crucial, with the team opting to bat first likely aiming to post a challenging total.
