Paris Saint-Germain booked another Champions League final appearance after edging Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate, sealing a Budapest showdown with Arsenal. A 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena followed the 5-4 first-leg thriller in Paris, where the French side’s early goal in Germany proved vital against Vincent Kompany’s team.
Ousmane Dembele struck after just three minutes in the second leg, finishing a move started by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Bayern responded late through Harry Kane deep into added time, yet the equaliser arrived too late to prevent PSG reaching a second successive Champions League final.
PSG will now face Arsenal, who overcame Atletico Madrid in the other semi-final, setting up the Budapest showpiece. Luis Enrique’s side became the first
club to reach back-to-back Champions League finals since Liverpool in 2018-2019, and the first defending champions to return to the final since Real Madrid in 2018.
The Ligue 1 champions also continue an impressive attacking record in Europe. PSG’s 44 goals in the 2025-26 campaign are the second-highest total by any club in a single Champions League season, only one behind Barcelona’s record of 45 set in 1999-00.
Despite that scoring record, PSG adopted a more cautious approach in Munich. Luis Enrique’s team allowed Bayern over 65% possession, sitting deeper after Dembele’s opener and relying on disciplined defending. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia created the goal with a cut-back, underlining a decisive contribution throughout this European run.
That assist meant Kvaratskhelia became the first player to either score or assist in seven separate knockout matches within one Champions League campaign. Since Kvaratskhelia’s PSG debut in February last year, only Harry Kane, with 22 goal involvements, has more than the Georgian’s 21, which include 13 goals and eight assists.
"Good memories. We could leave the match with a lot of intensity. The defence were better than the attack," the PSG boss said. "The character we showed against a team like Bayern is so positive. We're so happy to reach a second Champions League final in a row. It was very intense. Very difficult. They play football at the highest level. Both teams are similar, we love to press higher. We are very happy. In two days I'm going to celebrate my birthday. I'm very happy. We're in the next phase of the competition, the final of the Champions League. We want to give our supporters that kind of gift. "

Kvaratskhelia reflected on the achievement and looked ahead to facing Arsenal in Budapest. "Very happy we're in the final, Kvaratskhelia said. We know it will be difficult against Arsenal. Bayern areone of the best teams right now. It was very difficult. The hardest one this season. We showed we can play against these teams. I will give everything for this badge. "
The tie against Bayern underlined PSG’s ability to adjust between attacking freedom and defensive resilience. A high-scoring first leg at Parc des Princes contrasted with a controlled display in Munich, leaving Luis Enrique and the squad satisfied as they chase a second straight Champions League title against Arsenal.
