Vaibhav Sooryavanshi came on the cusp of the fastest IPL century in the IPL 2026 eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday (May 27).

The Mullanpur crowd was treated by Vaibhav's majestic batting as the 15-year-old dismantled SRH bowling attack and scored a sublime 97 off just 29 deliveries.

Vaibhav took on the Hyderabad bowlers and batted at a breakneck speed. The southpaw found everything in the middle and hit a humongous 12 sixes in the knock, along with 5 boundaries.

In the 8th over of the match, Praful Hinge was taken apart by the youngster, who went 6,4,4,6,6 - thus getting on the verge of a huge record. Chris Gayle's 30-ball century was in danger as Vaibhav required only a boundary to better that, but a short delivery from Hinge resulted

in Vaibhav's dismissal, who was caught at third man.

The entire stadium remained stunned but soon stood up to appreciate the humongous knock of the Samastipur lad, who continues to write new pages in his glorious cricket journey.
