The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revealed its 15-member squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
Litton Kumer Das will lead the
team as captain, with Mohammed Saif Hassan serving as vice-captain. The BCB announced the team on Sunday (January 4), amid the current issues regarding their venue in the tournament. Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed are set to spearhead their pace attack while Rishad Hossain is expected to play a key role in the spin department.
Amid the ongoing weakening relationship between India and Bangladesh, the Tigers have requested ICC to shift their matches from India to Sri Lanka. They were slated to play all their group stage matches in Kolkata and Mumbai.
Bangladesh face a tough group-stage slate in the ICC's flagship event - West Indies on February 7, debutants Italy on February 9, and England on February 14, all at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, while the final match against Nepal on February 17 in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
But it is to be seen if ICC approves their request and shift their matches, which will be a logistical disaster.
