Juventus aim to keep their momentum in Serie A when Cremonese visit Allianz Stadium on Monday, with Opta data strongly favouring the hosts and speculation around Federico Chiesa’s future adding an extra
storyline before a demanding run of fixtures for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
Spalletti’s team have won all eight previous home league meetings with Cremonese, scoring 23 times and conceding only three. Cremonese arrive in poor form against elite opposition and have failed to score in three straight away league matches, increasing pressure before this Juventus test.
Juventus have enjoyed a clear upturn under Spalletti, taking eight wins from their last 10 games in all competitions, alongside one draw and one defeat. That matches the number of victories from their earlier 21 matches, showing a more consistent pattern as they chase a top-four Serie A place.
At home in Serie A, Juventus are unbeaten in 13 outings, with nine wins and four draws. They have, however, allowed goals in their last three league games in Turin. They have not gone four consecutive home matches without a clean sheet since the period between January and March 2024.
Recent results include a draw with Lecce followed by a 3-0 victory over Sassuolo, underlining Juventus’ current strength. Yet Spalletti insists performances can still rise, pointing to lapses in intensity. That message grows in importance with a heavy January schedule and Champions League duties looming.
"The last two performances have been great, but we still need to understand certain things, and do them as quickly as possible," Spalletti added. "Because there are times when our attitude is no better than the bare minimum. We tend to only show 80% of our abilities and, no more, we dont go determined enough into the challenges. We had three or four corners where we didn't even manage to get it into the box. When you are away from home, you can't be so wasteful, as we have players who are so good in the air and aren't getting the service on set plays. "
Juventus vs Cremonese: Chiesa rumours and Juventus links
Alongside match preparation, Spalletti has been asked about reports suggesting Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa could return to Juventus during the January window. Chiesa left Turin for Anfield in 2024, yet the move has not brought regular starts, with injuries limiting involvement under head coach Arne Slot.
Chiesa, aged 28, has played 20 times for Liverpool across all competitions this season, starting only three. He has scored two goals and supplied three assists but totalled just 469 minutes. Reports in Italy indicate Chiesa wants more consistent minutes as Italy target World Cup qualification, prompting talk of a Juventus reunion.
During Chiesa’s four-year spell with Juventus between 2020 and 2024, including two seasons on loan from Fiorentina, the forward made 131 appearances. Chiesa contributed 32 goals and 20 assists in that period, becoming a key attacking figure. Spalletti, however, moved quickly to distance Juventus from any current move.
"I am pleased you are giving me this news, seeing as we haven't even had a meeting yet on the transfer market, but its the first I've heard of it," Spalletti told reporters. "For the moment, it's just thrown out there, but absolutely nothing concrete behind it. "
Juventus vs Cremonese: key players Jonathan David and Jamie Vardy
Attention on the pitch may focus on Jonathan David, who scored against Sassuolo and could now net in consecutive club games in all competitions for the first time since March 2025 with Lille. The forward’s numbers under Spalletti highlight a more prominent attacking role for Juventus.
Per 90 minutes in all competitions under Spalletti, David attempts 2.9 shots, with 1.6 on target, and averages 50 touches, including 10 in the opposition box, across 14 appearances. Under previous coach Igor Tudor, David logged 1.8 shots, 0.3 on target, and 33 touches per 90, with four inside the box, over 10 games.
Cremonese look towards Jamie Vardy, who scored in the reverse fixture. Vardy could become the fifth English player, after Joe Baker, Gerry Hitchens, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham, to score away at Juventus in Serie A and strengthen Cremonese’s limited attacking threat in Turin.
If Vardy finds the net, Vardy would also become only the second English player to score both home and away against Juventus in one Serie A season. The only previous example is Hitchens, who achieved that for Inter during the 1961-62 campaign, underlining what is at stake for Vardy personally.
Juventus vs Cremonese: schedule, statistics and win probability
Juventus currently sit fifth in Serie A and know that beating Cremonese will increase the strain on the sides above them. The match also opens a demanding spell, with league and European commitments testing squad depth and concentration throughout the rest of January.
After facing Cremonese, Juventus meet Cagliari in Serie A next Saturday, then host Benfica in the Champions League. A clash with Napoli, who are contesting the title, follows, before a European away match at Monaco closes their January fixtures, giving extra weight to taking maximum points on Monday.
| Juventus upcoming fixtures (January) | Competition |
|---|---|
| Cremonese (home) | Serie A |
| Cagliari (home) | Serie A |
| Benfica (home) | Champions League |
| Napoli (home) | Serie A |
| Monaco (away) | European competition |
Cremonese’s record against high-ranking opponents is poor. They have lost seven of their last eight Serie A games against teams starting the day in the top four, including each of the most recent four, with the only win in that run coming 2-1 against Roma in February 2023.
In away matches, Cremonese have drawn one and lost two of their last three Serie A fixtures, failing to score in all three. They have previously gone four away league games without a goal only once, between December 1991 and February 1992, when the fourth match of that sequence was in Turin against Torino.
| Juventus vs Cremonese Opta win probability | Percentage |
|---|---|
| Juventus win | 72.4% |
| Draw | 16.5% |
| Cremonese win | 11.1% |
With Juventus in strong domestic form, Cremonese struggling against top sides, and speculation around Federico Chiesa firmly dismissed by Spalletti, attention returns to the pitch in Turin, where historical results, current numbers and Opta modelling all point towards another Juventus victory, even as Spalletti continues to demand higher standards.
