The 2022 finalist fought back tears after his first-round doubles exit, saying he cannot see himself returning to compete at the All England Club again.
Former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios believes he has played his final match at the All England Club after suffering a first-round doubles defeat alongside Alexander Bublik.
The Australian, who reached the men's singles final in 2022 before losing to Novak Djokovic, bowed out after a 6-3, 6-4 loss to sixth seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic on Court 17.
Following the match, Kyrgios admitted it was likely the end of his Wimbledon career.
"Probably my last Wimbledon"
Reflecting on the emotional occasion, Kyrgios revealed he spent the closing stages of the match soaking in the atmosphere.
"I would probably say pretty confidently
my last Wimbledon. "
"I was looking around and taking everything in. It was tough. "
The 30-year-old added that he finds it difficult to imagine returning to compete at the tournament again.
"It would be hard to see myself coming back here again and competing. "
Wimbledon remains the highlight of Nick Kyrgios' career
Despite never lifting the title, Kyrgios described Wimbledon as the tournament that transformed his career.
His run to the 2022 final remains the best Grand Slam result of his career, although he admitted he no longer believes he can reach those heights again.
"That final was always going to be one of the better memories of my tennis career, but I just can't see myself getting back to anywhere near that level. "
Kyrgios first burst onto the scene at Wimbledon in 2014 when, as a teenager, he stunned Rafael Nadal to announce himself on the biggest stage.

Persistent injury problems have severely limited Kyrgios over the past few seasons, restricting him to only a handful of appearances on tour.
Although he stopped short of announcing his retirement from professional tennis, he admitted the contrast between his peak years and his current struggles has been difficult to process.
"I've just got so many thoughts right now. You go from making finals of Grand Slams to struggling to play multiple singles matches. "
Grateful for one final Wimbledon appearance
Kyrgios and Bublik entered the doubles draw through a wildcard and the Australian expressed his gratitude to the All England Club for giving him one last opportunity to compete.
"The wild cards are a very heavy, unreliant thing to plan schedules on. So I'm obviously super grateful for that opportunity. "
He also thanked Bublik for helping make the experience enjoyable despite the emotional farewell.
"Going out with someone like Bublik who keeps it pretty lighthearted, it's a lot of fun. But at the same time, a lot of things were running through my head the last couple of games. "
While Kyrgios left the door open regarding the remainder of his playing career, his comments strongly suggest Wimbledon 2026 marked the final chapter of his journey at the tournament where he enjoyed some of the greatest moments of his career.
