ONE Championship has announced another title match for ONE Fight Night 40, featuring knockout artists Nico Carrillo and Shadow Singha Mawynn battling for the ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Title
on 14 February live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The division's undisputed title is held by Tawanchai PK Saenchai, who suffered a devastating leg injury during his last fight against Chinese star Liu Mengyang at ONE Friday Fights 137, the final show of 2025. The 52-second knockout loss under kickboxing rules left Tawanchai sidelined indefinitely.
The winner of this interim belt will earn a future date with Tawanchai for the undisputed featherweight Muay Thai crown once the Thai champion recovers from his injury. Both contenders bring finishing power into this high-stakes clash.
The 27-year-old Carrillo brings a 6-1 promotional record and 29-4 career mark, with all his ONE victories coming via finish. The "King of the North" claimed four consecutive victories against top-tier fighters to earn his ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship match.
At ONE 170 last year, Carrillo challenged rising star Nabil Anane for interim bantamweight gold. However, he suffered a first-round TKO loss that shattered his championship dreams and forced him to reassess his approach.
The Scottish knockout artist then made the strategic decision to move up to featherweight, where his power and size advantages would prove more significant. Carrillo wasted no time making an impact with two devastating performances.
His opponent, 25-year-old Shadow, brings an impressive 81-14 professional striking record and 6-2 ONE mark. The Thai sensation rides a six-fight winning streak in Muay Thai competition, establishing himself as a legitimate title contender.
Last September, Shadow made his promotional kickboxing debut but suffered a unanimous decision loss against Liu. The defeat represents his only blemish in ONE Championship and came outside his primary Muay Thai discipline.
In Muay Thai competition, Shadow has been virtually unstoppable with six consecutive victories showcasing his technical brilliance and finishing ability. The Thai striker's well-rounded skill set makes him a dangerous opponent for anyone in the division.
