Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to rewrite record books in IPL 2026, smashing 43 sixes so far, the most by an Indian in a single season. He has surpassed Abhishek Sharma (42 in 2024) and now sits comfortably at the top of the elite list. The young sensation has displayed remarkable consistency and power, leaving behind notable names like Shreyas Iyer (39 in 2025), Virat Kohli (38 in 2016 & 2024), and Suryakumar Yadav (38 in 2025). His fearless approach has been a defining feature of this IPL season.

Rajasthan Royals delivered a stunning start against Delhi Capitals, piling up 75/1 in the first six overs, their second-highest powerplay total against DC in IPL history. The only better effort remains 79/0
at the same venue back in 2018.
The aggressive intent was evident right from the outset, as the Royals' batters capitalized on anything loose and kept the scoreboard ticking at an impressive rate.
DC vs RR: Explosive Start Led by Jaiswal & Sooryavanshi
Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone early, hammering three boundaries off Mitchell Starc in the opening over. At the other end, Sooryavanshi wasted no time in making his presence felt, opening his account with a towering six.
Despite a brief setback when Lungi Ngidi outfoxed Jaiswal with a well-disguised slower ball, the momentum remained firmly with Rajasthan. Starc's second over proved expensive, conceding 16 runs as the Royals continued their attacking approach.
Missed Chances Hurt Delhi Capitals
Delhi had its moments but failed to capitalize. A missed direct-hit opportunity from Axar Patel allowed Sooryavanshi to survive on 22, while KL Rahul dropped Dhruv Jurel early in his innings. These lapses proved costly as both batters made the most of the reprieves.
Further frustration followed when Sooryavanshi was dropped by Sameer Rizvi during a blistering over that included boundaries and a six.
Jurel capitalized on his second chance, forming a quickfire fifty partnership with Sooryavanshi. His counterattack added further pressure on the bowlers, especially in Mukesh Kumar's first over, which went for 17 runs courtesy of a flurry of boundaries and a six.
By the end of the powerplay, Rajasthan had firmly seized control, combining smart strokeplay with aggressive intent. With Sooryavanshi in record-breaking form and strong support from Jurel, the Royals laid a solid platform for a massive total.
