Cricket Australia has announced a provisional 15-player squad for the
upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka later this year. Led by all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, the squad emphasizes spin bowling options to tackle the expected turning tracks in the subcontinent, blending experience with emerging talent amid some fitness concerns.
Pat Cummins is managing his workload, Josh Hazlewood is nursing a hamstring issue, and Tim David is dealing with a similar strain - but the trio have been included in the side for the upcoming World Cup.
"Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Tim David are tracking well and we are confident they will be available for the World Cup. This is a preliminary squad so should changes need to be made they will ahead of the support period," selector George Bailey said.
Ben Dwarshuis is among the notable omissions as the left-arm pacer has found no place in the side, while Mitchell Owen is also omitted. Despite his recent lack of form, veteran Glenn Maxwell finds himself in the squad, while Matthew Kuhnemann is set to be th second spinner along with Adam Zampa.
