The Indian team will play the final ODI of the three-match series against New Zealand on Sunday, but they have already set their sights on the upcoming T20I series.
The five-match T20I series against the
Kiwis commences from Wednesday (January 21), and the first encounter is set to be played at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur.
The series is the final piece of rehearsal of the Indian team ahead of the T20 World Cup, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7. And ahead of the T20I series, nine India players have reached Nagpur on Saturday (January 17).
Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson arrive in Nagpur
Rinku Singh is the first player to arrive in Nagpur on Saturday, as he arrived in the evening from Delhi. The wicketkeeper duo Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan have also reached Nagpur as they travelled together from Bengaluru. Varun Chakravarthy has arrived from Hyderabad in the evening, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel have just landed at the Nagpur airport from Ahmedabad.
Three other Indian stars, Hardik Pandya, captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube are travelling from Mumbai, and they are set to land in Nagpur on Saturday night as well, after a slight delay in their flight.
Three of the team India staff will arrive in Nagpur on Sunday, while the rest of the team shall come a day later, along with the Indian coaching staff, including Gautam Gambhir. Shreyas Iyer, who was included in the T20I squad as Tilak Varma's replacement, will arrive only after Sunday's ODI match in Indore, while another replacement Ravi Bishnoi is likely to land on Monday.
