Al-Hilal marked a major Saudi Pro League landmark with a 1-0 home win over Damac, registering their 350th league victory and cutting Al-Nassr’s advantage to five points, while also extending a long unbeaten run that keeps Simone Inzaghi’s side in the title picture despite Al-Nassr remaining favourites.
The result also tightened the pressure near the top, as Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr now prepare to visit Al-Ahli, who sit third, on Wednesday, when Al-Hilal will rely on a slip from the leaders to strengthen their late push in the Saudi Pro League race.
Al-Hilal’s success against Damac brought up 350 Saudi Pro League wins, split between 183 at home and 167 away, the highest total recorded by any club in the competition, while they remain below
50 league defeats overall, staying on 49 losses with hopes of a complete unbeaten campaign still mathematically intact.
That broader run has stretched to 37 league matches without defeat, underlining Al-Hilal’s consistency in the Saudi Pro League, and they are also unbeaten in all seven home league meetings with Damac, producing six victories and one draw, although this was the first such fixture in which they did not score more than once.
On the night, Al-Hilal needed only one goal, as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic finally broke the deadlock on 18 minutes with a close-range header after a clever flick from Salem Al-Dawsari and a driven cross by Theo Hernandez, giving Inzaghi’s team a lead that stayed intact until full-time at Kingdom Arena.
Milinkovic-Savic had threatened earlier with two efforts before scoring and later misdirected another headed chance in first-half stoppage time, shortly after Hernandez met a loose ball with a firm volley that forced a sharp save from goalkeeper Kewin, who kept Damac in the contest despite the sustained pressure.
The second half featured fewer clear opportunities as Al-Hilal managed the tempo in the Saudi Pro League contest, yet Marcos Leonardo still went close near the end, dragging one attempt wide and then seeing a powerful header turned away by Kewin, while relegation-threatened Damac failed to record a single shot on target across the 90 minutes.

The combination of a clean sheet, another victory at Kingdom Arena and their growing historical numbers in the Saudi Pro League leaves Al-Hilal well placed to challenge, yet their fate still depends on Al-Nassr’s results, starting with the leaders’ difficult visit to Al-Ahli, while Damac remain focused on survival.
