Chelsea Gray hit a fading jumper with 3.6 seconds left as the Las Vegas Aces edged the Atlanta Dream 85-84, extending the defending WNBA champions’ winning streak to four. Gray’s late basket completed a team-high 21-point outing, while A’ja Wilson and Chennedy Carter each added 20, keeping Las Vegas among the early season pace-setters at 4-1.
Wilson also passed Las Vegas coach Becky Hammon on the WNBA career scoring chart, moving into 19th place with 5,844 points, three ahead of Hammon’s 5,841. The milestone came on a night when Las Vegas needed every point, with both teams trading leads in a tight finish that highlighted contrasting performances from key guards.
Despite the victory, the Aces had to overcome a difficult outing from Jackie Young,
who missed all 12 field-goal attempts and went 0 of 5 from three-point range. Young failed to score for the first time since 2020, during the second WNBA season, leaving Gray, Wilson and Carter to carry most of the offensive load.
Atlanta stayed close behind a strong effort from Allisha Gray, who produced 25 points and eight rebounds, while Te-Hina Paopao added 19. Rookie Madina Okot delivered 14 points and 11 rebounds for a second career double-double, but the Dream fell to 2-1 as late errors and defensive breakdowns proved costly.

Angel Reese endured an inefficient shooting game for Atlanta, finishing 1 of 8 from the field, though Reese still posted nine points and eight rebounds. Reese also committed eight of the Dream’s 13 turnovers, a key statistic in a one-point defeat where small margins, including free throws and late ball security, shaped the outcome.
Elsewhere, Caitlin Clark delivered another all-round display as the Indiana Fever beat the Seattle Storm 89-78. Clark totalled 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, narrowly missing a triple-double, and recorded a 12th WNBA game with at least 20 points and 10 assists, two more than any other player in league history.

Clark converted all nine free throws as Indiana, now 2-2, built a lead that stretched to 20 points in the fourth quarter. The Fever secured a first home win after two earlier defeats in Indiana, helped by a 51-36 rebounding advantage and balanced scoring support from Kelsey Mitchell and reserve Sophie Cunningham, who contributed 17 points each.
Seattle, dropping to 1-3, relied on Natisha Hiedeman’s 19 points to stay competitive, while Flau’jae Johnson added 14 despite shooting 3 of 14. The Storm struggled on the glass and could not match Indiana’s efficiency at the foul line, allowing the Fever to control tempo and close out the contest without serious late pressure.
WNBA scoring surge as Brittney Sykes lifts Tempo past Sparks
Brittney Sykes produced a career-best scoring night as the Toronto Tempo defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 106-96, with Sykes finishing with 38 points. The nine-year veteran surpassed the previous personal high of 35 set in 2022 while playing for the Sparks, driving Toronto’s offence through aggressive drives and consistent pressure on the defence.

Sykes did most damage from the free-throw line, hitting all 15 attempts as Toronto improved to 2-2. The Tempo were nearly flawless at the stripe, converting 39 of 42 foul shots, and also saw rookie Kiki Rice post 19 points in a first career start, helping secure Toronto’s first road victory of the campaign.
Kelsey Plum paced the Sparks, now 1-3, with 28 points and seven assists, while Dearica Hamby added 21 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort. Despite strong individual numbers, Los Angeles could not keep pace with Toronto’s free-throw advantage, which proved the main statistical gap across the three WNBA games.
| WNBA game | Final score | Top scorer |
|---|---|---|
| Las Vegas Aces vs Atlanta Dream | 85-84 Aces | Chelsea Gray – 21 points |
| Indiana Fever vs Seattle Storm | 89-78 Fever | Caitlin Clark – 21 points |
