4-0 victory over FC Cincinnati on Sunday.

The Argentine icon delivered a goal and three assists, elevating his overall tally to 896 goals and 404 assists across 1134 professional appearances, cementing his position at the pinnacle of global football.

Messi's brilliance also set a new MLS playoff benchmark, as he reached 12 goal contributions in the postseason-six goals and six assists-more than any player in the competition's history. His impact helped Inter Miami secure their first-ever place in the Eastern Conference final, where they await the winner of the Philadelphia Union vs New York City FC semifinal.

Inter Miami set the tone early at Chase Stadium, with Messi breaking his brief scoring drought against Cincinnati in the 19th minute. Meeting a precise cross from Mateo Silvetti, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner headed home the opener to end his run of three goalless matches against the side. The goal marked his 11th strike in his last seven outings.

Cincinnati, who finished the regular MLS season with the second-best record-only behind Philadelphia-struggled to capitalise on their limited chances. Their most promising moment came when Ender Echenique nodded the ball into the path of Evander, whose attempt flew over the bar.
