Arsenal continued their flawless run in the Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Club Brugge. Noni Madueke was instrumental, scoring twice at Jan Breydel Stadium. His first goal came midway through
the opening half, and he added another shortly after halftime. Gabriel Martinelli also contributed with a remarkable goal, helping Arsenal secure six wins from six matches in the league phase.
Madueke's performance was exceptional, as he led Arsenal's attack with four shots, three of which were on target. His xG stood at 1.01, and all his goals for Arsenal have been in the Champions League. This match marked his first time scoring in consecutive European games. Meanwhile, Martinelli has scored in every Champions League game this season, becoming the first Arsenal player to achieve this feat.
Arsenal's triumph against Club Brugge means they have won six consecutive games to start a single edition of the European Cup/Champions League for the first time. They join Manchester United, Leeds United, Liverpool, and Manchester City as the only English teams to accomplish this milestone. This victory also helps Arsenal move closer to direct entry into the last 16 of the competition.
Before Madueke's stunning opener, Dani van den Heuvel had already saved a powerful shot from Martin Odegaard. Piero Hincapie also hit the post before Madueke's brilliant strike from 25 yards found the top-right corner. Ben White's header and another curling effort from Madueke tested Van den Heuvel further.
Martin Zubimendi provided an assist for Madueke's second goal with a deep cross from the left wing just two minutes into the second half. Martinelli then sealed the win with a superb bending shot into the top-right corner. Gabriel Jesus almost added to the scoreline when he hit the crossbar after returning from injury as a substitute.
Ethan Nwaneri also made an impact by forcing two saves from Van den Heuvel during injury time. Despite losing 2-1 to Aston Villa in their previous Premier League match, Arsenal bounced back strongly with this win, maintaining their lead at the top of the league table.
