India has named their squad for the upcoming U19 World Cup, which is scheduled for January 15 to February 6, 2026, co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia.
It features 16 teams in a 50-over format, with 41 matches
across group stages, Super Six, semi-finals, and the final at Harare Sports Club. India, the most successful team with five titles, is in Group A alongside Bangladesh, USA, and New Zealand.

The BCCI has announced the team for the U19 World Cup, as the Indian team will be captained by Ayush Mhatre. Vihaan Malhotra, who was signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the mini auction, has been appointed as vice captain.
14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also been named in the squad, while the other key names include Mumbai's Abhigyan Kundu, Kerala's Mohamed Enaan. The young Indian crop has been playing together for a few competitions in recent months.
They played in the Emerging Asia Cup recently after the England tour, while the majority of the squad was also part of the recently concluded U19 Asia Cup, which India finished as runners-up.

Over the years, the Indian team have won the U19 World Cup 5 times, being the most successful team in competition's history. Their latest triumph was in the 2022 World Cup, where India beat England in the final under the captaincy of Yash Dhull. In 2024, India reached the final again but lost to Australia.
