AC Milan’s title chase takes another hit as Udinese claim a clear 3-0 victory at San Siro, handing the Rossoneri a third loss in four Serie A matches. Milan miss the opportunity to climb back into second place behind Inter, while Udinese leave the stadium with another major away success.
The result also brings an unwanted landmark for Massimiliano Allegri. This is the first occasion Allegri has lost a home Serie A match by three goals without Milan scoring. The Rossoneri last suffered a similar home league defeat in February 2021, when Inter won 3-0.
This victory completes a notable San Siro double for Udinese in the current Serie A season. Having already beaten Inter at the same venue, Udinese now defeat both Milan clubs away in one league campaign
for only the second time, repeating an achievement first recorded in the 2003-04 season.
Udinese also extend a strong defensive sequence under Kosta Runjaic. The visitors record three consecutive clean sheets in Serie A for the second time during Runjaic’s tenure. The previous run of three straight shutouts came between February and March 2025, underlining the current organisation and discipline without the ball.
The numbers highlight Milan’s wastefulness and Udinese’s ruthless finishing. Milan attempt 20 shots, while Udinese manage 12 efforts. Expected goals data shows Milan with 1.65 xG compared to Udinese’s 1.24 xG, yet the visitors take chances far more effectively and convert pressure moments into goals.
Despite those figures, the pattern on the scoreboard is clear. Udinese strike once before half-time, add another before the interval, then finish Milan off late on. The home side create several promising situations, yet key attacking players fail to convert, while Udinese’s forwards and midfielders make better use of fewer openings.
Udinese San Siro Milan first-half goals
The breakthrough arrives in the 27th minute after a powerful surge from Nicolo Zaniolo. Starting inside Udinese’s half, Zaniolo drives to the edge of Milan’s box and finds Arthur Atta. Atta’s attempt is diverted into the net by Davide Bartesaghi for an own goal that puts the visitors ahead.
Milan try to answer quickly, but chances go begging. Rafael Leao heads wide from a promising position as Milan seek a swift equaliser. At the other end, Keinan Davis forces Mike Maignan into a save onto the crossbar, warning the Rossoneri of more problems to come before the interval.
Udinese soon double the lead, again with Zaniolo central to the move. Zaniolo delivers a floated cross into the area, where Jurgen Ekkelenkamp meets the ball with a firm header. The effort goes in off the post, leaving Maignan beaten and Milan facing a two-goal deficit before half-time at San Siro.
Udinese San Siro Milan second-half action
Milan begin the second half with greater urgency and almost halve the deficit after seven minutes. Alexis Saelemaekers connects with a half-volley from around 20 yards, but Maduka Okoye reacts superbly, stretching to tip the strike onto the crossbar and preserve Udinese’s two-goal advantage.
The match is effectively settled 19 minutes from time when Udinese strike again on the counter. After Adrien Rabiot loses the ball near the halfway line, Ekkelenkamp quickly moves possession to Atta. Atta goes on to beat Maignan with a composed finish, making it 3-0 and deepening Milan’s frustration.

The final whistle confirms a heavy setback for Milan’s Scudetto ambitions and a strong away statement by Udinese. Milan’s missed opportunities, combined with decisive contributions from Zaniolo, Ekkelenkamp and Atta, ensure the visitors leave San Siro with maximum points and another clean sheet in Serie A.
