Paris FC knocked holders Paris Saint-Germain out of the Coupe de France with a 1-0 derby win at the Parc des Princes, reaching the round of 16. Jonathan Ikone hit the decisive goal despite PSG producing
25 shots to the visitors’ four, and the Ligue 1 champions could not repeat their late Trophee des Champions rescue act.
The result gave Paris FC a first-ever victory over PSG in any competition and also marked a rare early exit for the hosts in the Coupe de France. It is only the second time in 20 years that PSG have gone out before the last 16, after Montpellier managed the same feat in 2014.
The match developed slowly, with PSG controlling possession but failing to create clear openings in the first half. Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Goncalo Ramos each passed up chances, while Paris FC stayed compact and waited for mistakes. PSG pushed for a repeat of their Trophee des Champions late drama, but the break arrived goalless.
Paris FC grew into the contest after half-time and struck from a swift counter-attack that caught PSG off balance. Ilan Kebbal broke forward and slipped a precise pass through to Ikone, who brought the ball under control and finished calmly past Lucas Chevalier, giving the underdogs the lead against the flow of play.
PSG responded with heavy pressure as the minutes ticked away, and Warren Zaire-Emery crashed a powerful effort against the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area. Illia Zabarnyi and Desire Doue both shot wide from promising positions, before Obed Nkambadio produced a superb late save, tipping Vitinha’s rising drive over the bar to preserve the upset at the home of last season’s treble winners.

Nkambadio’s performance underpinned the result, with several important saves from Kvaratskhelia and others keeping Paris FC level before Ikone scored. The forward now has four Coupe de France goals this season, more than any of Paris FC’s team-mates. Key numbers from the tie and recent history are shown below.
| Item | Paris FC | PSG |
|---|---|---|
| Score in Coupe de France round of 32 | 1 | 0 |
| Total shots in the match | 4 | 25 |
| Ikone goals in Coupe de France 2025-26 | 4 | N/A |
| Coupe de France eliminations before last 16 in past 20 years | N/A | 2 (including 2014 vs Montpellier) |
Paris FC progress to the Coupe de France last 16 with confidence after a controlled defensive display and one incisive attack. PSG exit earlier than usual, despite dominating attempts on goal, while Ikone’s scoring run in the competition and Nkambadio’s goalkeeping display stand out as defining features of a notable derby result.
