Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Morocco striker Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven on a five-year contract. The transfer fee is reportedly around 55m. Saibari is expected to act as understudy to Harry Kane. The move follows Nicolas Jackson’s return to Chelsea after a season-long loan.
Club officials view the 25-year-old as a key attacking option for new coach Vincent Kompany. Saibari highlighted the attraction of Bayern Munich’s status, saying: "As a child, you dream of signing a contract with a club like Bayerneverybody knows it's one of the world's biggest clubs," the 25-year-old told the club's official website.
Saibari will compete for minutes across the forward line, mainly backing up Kane in central areas. Bayern Munich’s coaches
expect Saibari to bring strong link-up play and finishing. Kompany’s presence was central to the decision. Saibari explained that influence, stating: "Bayern compete for the biggest titles like the Champions League every year and I want to win as many trophies as possible here. Bayern's play suits me, I can play my own style of football here, and I'll work hard every day to help the team. Coach Vincent Kompany played a key role in my decisionI'm looking forward to working with him. "
Saibari arrives in Munich after a strong World Cup with Morocco. The forward scored three goals in four matches at the tournament. Saibari also converted the decisive penalty in a 3-2 shoot-out victory over the Netherlands, sending Morocco into the last 16.

Form at club level has also been strong. During the 2025-26 Eredivisie season, Saibari scored 15 goals in 27 league appearances for PSV. Those numbers underline why Bayern Munich targeted the forward as Jackson’s replacement in the squad rotation.
| Season | Club | Competition | Appearances | Goals |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025-26 | PSV Eindhoven | Eredivisie | 27 | 15 |
| 2026 | Morocco | World Cup | 4 | 3 |
The transfer also closes Saibari’s chapter with PSV in symbolic fashion. That winning World Cup penalty against the Netherlands was the final major moment of Saibari’s PSV spell, as Bayern Munich completed the signing soon after the tournament.
Saibari’s arrival gives Bayern Munich another international forward in peak years. The club gains depth behind Kane, while Morocco supporters will monitor how regular minutes in Germany affect national team performances. The move offers Saibari a larger platform in Champions League and Bundesliga competition.
