Yang Hyun-Jun equalised for Celtic with a skilful volley after Hatate delivered a precise cross. Shortly after, Schmeichel denied another attempt from Ueda. In the 43rd minute, Daizen Maeda pressured Timon Wellenreuther into a mistake, allowing Hatate to score into an open net, giving Celtic the lead.
Feyenoord sought an equaliser with Gaoussou Diarra hitting the crossbar and Robin van Persie introducing his son Shaqueel to bolster their attack. However, substitute Benjamin Nygren sealed Celtic's win by scoring their third goal from Maeda's assist, marking their first European away victory in over four years.
