Ajax have completed the permanent signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal, following an early loan recall from Nottingham Forest. The 29-year-old Ukraine international leaves the Emirates Stadium after one and a half seasons. Arsenal confirmed the Ajax transfer on 1 February 2026 through an official announcement.
Zinchenko joined Arsenal from Manchester City in July 2022 and became a regular option in defence and midfield. Across all competitions, Zinchenko made 91 appearances for the Gunners. During that spell, Zinchenko scored three goals and registered five assists for Arsenal.
Before sealing the move to Ajax, Zinchenko had been on loan at Nottingham Forest. Zinchenko arrived at the City Ground late in the summer transfer window. Under
Sean Dyche, Zinchenko played only 10 matches in total and started just once, which led Arsenal to end the loan early on Sunday.

Zinchenko now begins a new chapter in the Netherlands with Ajax, after a brief and limited spell at Nottingham Forest and a longer run with Arsenal. The move closes Zinchenko’s Premier League stay for the second time since leaving Manchester City.
