The Pistons' winning streak has propelled them to the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a 15-2 record, just behind the Oklahoma City Thunder at 17-1 in the NBA. Jalen Duren also had a strong showing for Detroit, scoring 17 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and blocking three shots. Jaden Ivey added 12 points in under 12 minutes during his second game back from a knee injury that had sidelined him for the season.
Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 24 points and eight rebounds, while Jarace Walker added 21 points off the bench. Despite closing the gap to three points late in the game, Indiana couldn't secure a win as Bennedict Mathurin missed a crucial three-pointer with just 11 seconds left. Brandon Ingram scored a season-high of 37 points as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-99, extending their winning streak to eight games. The Raptors' defence was pivotal in holding Cleveland to just 45 points in the second half and limiting their shooting percentage to under 42%. Tyler Herro made an impactful return for Miami Heat by scoring an efficient 24 points in his season debut against Dallas Mavericks. Herro had been sidelined for Miami's first 17 games due to injuries but returned strong by shooting an impressive percentage from the field and adding seven rebounds. Despite struggling from beyond the arc, making only five out of twenty-seven attempts, Miami managed to secure their fifth consecutive victory with a final score of 106-102 against Dallas. PJ Washington led Dallas with his scoring efforts while Daniel Gafford recorded a double-double performance.
Miami's victory marked their first win since 2018 where they made five or fewer three-pointers in a game. Rookie Cooper Flagg also contributed effectively by adding both scoring and rebounding numbers for Dallas during this matchup.
