MS Dhoni was seen donning the yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings for the first time in this IPL 2026 season.
Dhoni is present in CSK's final home match of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad and stepped into the pitch wearing the official jersey of the team.
Dhoni, much to the delight of the fans, took field amid his injury issues, putting the spectators in frenzy at the Chepauk.
Why is MS Dhoni not Playing?
MS Dhoni is not playing due to another injury. The star player was ruled out earlier with a hamstring strain, but a recent thumb issue has further derailed his return. The anticipation of Dhoni playing in the final Chepauk game was high, but the veteran was not fit enough to play, as it was mentioned at toss by Ruturaj Gaikwad.
"Dhoni is here in Chepauk but he is not
fit enough to play. Hopefully, we will win tonight and give him a chance to recover and play in the coming matches," Gaikwad said.
Why did MS Dhoni wear CSK Jersey?
Dhoni was seen in CSK jersey for a team photoshoot. As it is the final home match of the season, the entire CSK squad had a photo and Dhoni joined the rest of his teammates for that. The 44-year-old is yet to play a match this season and continues to remain sidelined, and his chances of playing any match this season remain bleak.
