Pakistan is set to travel to Sri Lanka next month for a three-match T20I series, just ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Tuesday (December 2).
This series, scheduled to
be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS) in Dambulla on the 7th, 9th, and 11th of January, forms a key part of Pakistan's preparations for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
The tour offers Pakistan an important opportunity for valuable match practice under subcontinental conditions similar to those expected during the World Cup. Playing consecutive matches in a competitive setting will help the team fine-tune their strategies, assess player form, and build cohesion ahead of the major tournament.
In the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan has been drawn into Group A, with all their group stage fixtures scheduled to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The tournament itself will run from 7 February to 8 March 2026, and Pakistan are grouped with arch-rivals India, Namibia, Netherlands and USA.
Pakistan recently won their T20I assignment in a tri-nation series on home soil, defeating the Lankans in the final. Apart from that, the Salman Ali Agha-led side also reached the finals of the Asia Cup, but lost against India in the championship clash.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka T20I Series Schedule
