Who Are the Top Seeds at WTT Feeder Chennai?
India's Manav Thakkar, ranked World No. 48, heads the men's singles field as the top seed. He will lead a strong Indian contingent featuring Harmeet Desai, Ankur Bhattacharjee, Payas Jain, Snehit Suravajjula and local favourite G Sathiyan.
South Korea's Kwon Hyuk, ranked World No. 93, is among the leading international men's contenders.
In women's singles, Japan's Sachi Aoki leads the entries, followed by South Korea's Yang Haeun. Aoki will be one of the players to watch after enjoying success in Chennai earlier this year.
Indian Contenders to Watch
Diya Chitale headlines India's women's singles challenge after winning mixed doubles bronze with Manush Shah at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. World No. 76 Yashaswini Ghorpade, national champion and Commonwealth Championships gold medallist, will also be a major contender.
Experienced campaigners Sutirtha Mukherjee and Taneesha Kotecha, alongside rising players, will strengthen India's challenge.
In men's singles, Thakkar, Desai, Sathiyan and Bhattacharjee will be among the key names, with home support potentially providing an additional advantage for Tamil Nadu's Sathiyan.
Manush Shah: The Vadodara Champion
Manush Shah will be one of the most closely watched names, particularly after his memorable triumph at the WTT Feeder Vadodara in January 2026.
Playing in his hometown, Shah recovered from losing the opening two games against Payas Jain in the men's singles final to win 7-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6, 11-8. The comeback secured the title and underlined his ability to handle pressure in decisive moments.
Shah has also made history alongside Diya Chitale, with the pair winning India's first mixed doubles medal at the Asian Games in 2026. His performance in Chennai will therefore attract considerable attention as he looks to build on a successful year.
