The highly anticipated Women's Premier League auction for its fifth edition takes center stage in Kochi on Wednesday, October 28. Franchises will engage in massive bidding wars to secure prime domestic and international talent.
A total of 146 players will go under the hammer. Franchises must fill exactly 27 remaining roster slots. Twenty positions belong strictly to Indian domestic prospects and the remaining seven spots will accommodate overseas recruits ahead of the WPL 2027 season.
The UP Warriorz possess supreme financial flexibility. Following the release of nine players, they carry a league-leading purse of INR 3.75 crore. Conversely, the defending powerhouse Mumbai Indians operate with the tightest budget, holding a mere INR 90 lakh. Gujarat
Giants command INR 1.25 crore, Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit on INR 1.15 crore, and Delhi Capitals enter the fray with INR 1.10 crore.
International stars like Sophie Molineux, Grace Harris, and Jess Jonassen will attract heavy bidding. Explosive all-rounders Chloe Tryon, Deandra Dottin, and leg-spinner Alana King are also guaranteed to trigger bidding wars. On the domestic front, Vrinda Dinesh, Gongadi Trisha, and Shweta Sehrawat remain the top Indian prospects.
